One way to freedom
“Forgiveness has nothing to do with absolving a criminal of his crime. It has everything to do with relieving oneself of the burden of being a victim--letting go of the pain and transforming oneself from victim to survivor.”
C.R. Strahan
Albicara was taking his stroll. It was his, you see, because the stroll was the part of his day he wouldn't exchange for the sweetest bowl of milk.
He liked the warm sun on his back and the green grass caressing his whiskers.
As he went along with his pink nose in the air, he felt something on his left paw. something that curiously felt like a sting. who or what dared to intercept his precious stroll?
He lifted his paw and looked upon a thorn. oh and his anger surged. How dare the tiny thorn to cause him such pain!
He knew the thorn hadn't't been there before. He had walked this very path just yesterday.
Albicara was certainly not one to let such an affront go. Not on his life. He'd have his sweet revenge.
Was it to be sweet?
He thought, " I would tear it to pieces with my fangs." so just that he did.
And now, the sting was present on his tongue too.
" oooooh, fighting back? I'd suffocate you to your death, you tiny thorn!"
so just that he did.
Now he could feel the stings, lined up on like soldier ants on his beautiful caramel fur.
" ooooh, okay,okay. I'll let it go."
The tiny thorn didn't seem to hear this last bit. It wouldn't let go.
Albicara jumped away and felt the sting no more.
moral: forgiveness is freedom.
