Fix the country. Fix the country?
"We can't become what we need to be by remaining what we are." - Oprah Winfrey
As this is in the trends I just had to put my own transparent thoughts out here. Remember the polls? Well I am on the shy side of apathy when it comes down to polls. Call me a cynic. Just like our habit of dropping the sachets at the funeral grounds, the country would be where we are until we start putting them in our bags for proper disposal.
What can we say?
You can be real dirty
Only we see your sanctimonious airs of supposed transparency
Before the polls
You make great promises of progress
You are the Moses, sent to save us!
You're Josiah, you reform!
Before the polls
Perpetuating propaganda slyly
Rigging to make right Pharoah's wrongs
Believe, believe! Believe in me
You say
We do, we don't. We've been here
But hope dares to draw us to your side
Who knows? you could be different
After the polls
We're still where we are
What can we say?
We saw it coming.
I wrote this poem at one church meeting. You'd be surprised what your subconscious is cloaking.
Enjoy. And these days I am an optimist too. I believe we as an individuals can make a ripple in our pool. We could start by planting some fruit trees on our birthdays and our deathdays. For our dead,I mean.

ReplyDeletegreat one dear.....we sure can make a difference
ReplyDeleteI like it
ReplyDeleteHeart poured out in its capacity. Couldn't have said it any better dear. They give us hope of a better world, and when given the nod, the latter gets worse and the best they do is to compare with the former. Do you think the latter would have been given the mantle if the former was right?? Enough !!!!
ReplyDeleteGhana as a country deserves better.
might just as well pray for some Josiah to appear on this scene.
